Training & CPD Booking Terms

These Booking Terms apply to training, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops, courses and related professional learning provided by Iridescence Counselling Services Ltd (“Iridescence”).

Please read these terms before booking. By completing a booking and confirming your agreement to these terms, you enter into an agreement with Iridescence Counselling Services Ltd for the training or CPD you have selected.

1. Booking and payment

Places are subject to availability and are confirmed once the booking process has been completed and the required payment has been received.

The price of each training event or CPD programme will be clearly stated at the time of booking. Payment is normally required in full at the time of booking unless an instalment plan or other payment arrangement is expressly offered by Iridescence. Prices may be reviewed and changed from time to time. Any change in price will apply to future bookings only and will not affect a booking already confirmed at an agreed price.

Where an instalment plan is offered, you agree to make each payment by the dates specified at the time of the booking. The total amount payable will be shown before you complete your purchase.

A booking is for the named participant and may not be transferred to another person without prior agreement from Iridescence.

2. Cancellations and refunds

If you need to cancel your booking, please contact Iridescence Counselling Services as soon as possible.

More than 28 days before the training: A refund will normally be provided. Where administrative costs have already been incurred, Iridescence may deduct a reasonable administration charge of up to £15. Alternatively, you may request a transfer to another Iridescence training event, subject to availability.

Between 14 and 28 days before the training: Iridescence will consider a refund or transfer, taking into account any costs or losses already incurred and whether the place can reasonably be offered to another participant.

Less than 14 days before the training: A refund cannot normally be guaranteed. Any amount retained will reflect reasonable losses arising from the cancellation, taking account of any costs saved or whether the place can be filled by another participant.

Where appropriate, you may request to transfer your place to another person, subject to prior agreement from Iridescence and any eligibility requirements for the training.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

3. Changes or cancellation by Iridescence

Iridescence reserves the right to make reasonable changes to a training event where necessary, including changes to the date, timing, format, content or facilitator. Where a significant change is required, participants will be informed as soon as reasonably possible.

If Iridescence cancels a training event, participants will normally be offered the choice of transferring their booking to an alternative date or receiving a refund of the amount paid for the cancelled event.

Iridescence cannot be responsible for additional costs incurred by participants in connection with attending training, such as travel, accommodation or other personal expenses.

Where circumstances outside Iridescence’s reasonable control prevent or substantially disrupt delivery, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the training or provide an appropriate alternative.

4. Online training and technology

Online training is normally delivered using Zoom or another suitable online platform. Participants are responsible for ensuring that they have a suitable device, internet connection and access to the platform required for the training.

Joining information will be sent to the email address provided when booking. Participants are responsible for providing an accurate email address and for checking their inbox, including spam or junk folders, before the training.

If a participant experiences an individual technical problem that prevents or interrupts attendance, Iridescence cannot guarantee that the session can be repeated or refunded. Where possible, reasonable assistance or an alternative arrangement may be considered.

If a significant technical problem on the part of Iridescence or the delivery platform prevents the training from being delivered as planned, Iridescence will make reasonable efforts to resume, reschedule or provide an appropriate alternative.

5. Recording and use of training content

Some live training sessions may be recorded. Where recording is planned, participants will be informed in advance and again at the beginning of the session.

Recording will normally be limited to the teaching elements of the training. Breakout-room discussions will not be recorded.

Recorded teaching may be edited and subsequently used by Iridescence for educational purposes, including the development of recorded or self-study CPD programmes.

Iridescence will take reasonable steps to avoid including identifiable participant contributions in material subsequently made available to others. Participant images, voices or identifiable contributions will not intentionally be included in a separately published or commercially available recording without appropriate permission.

Participants must not make their own audio, video or screen recordings of training sessions unless they have received prior written permission from Iridescence.

6. Confidentiality and participation

Iridescence aims to provide a respectful, inclusive and psychologically informed learning environment in which participants can reflect, contribute and learn together.

Some training may include reflective discussion, experiential exercises, case material or breakout-room conversations. Participants are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others and not share personal information or experiences disclosed by other participants outside the training.

When discussing clinical work, participants must take appropriate steps to protect client confidentiality and should not disclose information that could identify a client or other third party.

Participation in reflective or experiential activities is encouraged but not compulsory. Participants are responsible for making choices about their own level of participation and may choose not to take part in an exercise or discussion if they do not wish to do so.

Iridescence reserves the right to address behaviour that significantly disrupts the learning environment, breaches confidentiality or compromises the safety or dignity of others. In serious circumstances, a participant may be asked to leave the training.

7. Intellectual property and training materials

Unless otherwise stated, original training and educational materials created by Iridescence, including slides, handouts, worksheets, exercises, reflective resources, curated learning resources, reading guides, journals, written content and recorded content, remain the intellectual property of Iridescence Counselling Services Ltd. Materials created by third parties remain the intellectual property of their respective authors or copyright holders.

Materials are provided for the participant’s own personal and professional learning. They must not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, uploaded, sold, used to deliver training to others, or shared with third parties without prior written permission from Iridescence or the relevant copyright holder.

Participants may draw upon their learning in their own professional practice, reflection and supervision, provided that Iridescence materials are not reproduced or presented as their own work.

Where training incorporates material belonging to another organisation, author or programme, the intellectual property rights of that third party remain unaffected.

8. Attendance and CPD certificates

CPD certificates are issued to reflect the training that a participant has attended and completed.

For live training, participants are expected to attend the full advertised teaching time in order to receive a certificate for the stated number of CPD hours. If a participant misses a significant part of the training, Iridescence may issue a certificate showing only the hours actually attended or may be unable to issue a certificate for that event.

Where a programme consists of several workshops, participants who complete all required workshops will receive the certificate specified for the complete programme. Individual workshop certificates may also be provided where applicable.

Certificates confirm participation in Iridescence training and the number of CPD hours completed. They do not constitute a professional qualification, licence to practise, accreditation or endorsement by a professional body unless this is expressly stated in the course information.

9. Accessibility and reasonable adjustments

Iridescence is committed to making its training as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible.

Participants are invited to let us know about any access or learning requirements that would support their participation. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or provide unnecessary personal or medical information when requesting an adjustment.

We will consider reasonable adjustments in relation to the individual participant, the nature of the training and the resources available. Where a particular adjustment cannot reasonably be provided, we will discuss this with the participant and, where possible, explore suitable alternatives.

Participants are encouraged to contact Iridescence as early as possible before the training where an adjustment may require advance preparation.

10. Data protection and privacy

Iridescence Counselling Services Ltd processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law. Information provided when enquiring about or booking training will be used for purposes including administering bookings, processing payments, communicating about the training and providing appropriate participant support.

Where participants voluntarily provide information about access or learning requirements, Iridescence will use this information only where reasonably necessary to consider and provide appropriate support or adjustments.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Iridescence Counselling Services Privacy Policy, which provides further information about how and why personal data is collected and used, how long it is retained, who it may be shared with, and your data protection rights.

Booking a training event does not automatically subscribe you to marketing communications. Where you choose separately to receive information about future Iridescence CPD, training or professional events, you may withdraw that choice at any time.

11. Professional scope of training

Iridescence training and CPD are provided for educational and professional development purposes. They do not constitute psychotherapy, clinical supervision, diagnosis or individual professional advice.

Participants remain responsible for their own professional practice and for working within their competence, professional ethical framework, organisational requirements and insurance arrangements.

Training provided by Iridescence is intended to support, rather than replace, appropriate professional judgement, supervision and further learning.

12. Complaints and contact

If you have a concern or complaint about an Iridescence training event, please contact us in the first instance so that we have an opportunity to understand and respond to the issue.
