You may be arriving here feeling overwhelmed

You may be living with emotional pain, inner conflict, or a sense of being overwhelmed that feels difficult to explain.

  • Perhaps you have spent years coping, functioning, or holding things together — for yourself or for others — while feeling disconnected, exhausted, or alone with what you are carrying.

  • You may feel dysregulated, unsafe in your body or emotions, or unsure how to access hope, meaning, or self-compassion.

"If this resonates, you are not alone."

Therapy does not begin by fixing you

Many people come to therapy feeling that something about them needs to change or be repaired. This work takes a different starting point.

Rather than rushing towards solutions, therapy begins by creating the conditions of safety, relationship, and regulation in which meaningful psychological change can occur. You do not need to perform, explain everything clearly, or know where to start. We can take this moment by moment, at a pace that feels manageable.

How I work as your therapist

Relational & Trauma-Informed

My work is integrative, trauma-informed, and deeply relational. I offer a space where experiences can be explored gently and collaboratively, without pressure to go faster or deeper than feels safe.

Prioritising Safety

Grounding, stabilisation, and containment are prioritised so that difficult experiences can be held with care. The work is shaped together, informed by your needs, history, identity, and context.

Creative & Experiential

Alongside talking, I may work creatively and experientially, using imagery, metaphor, reflective practices, somatic awareness, mindfulness, or nature-based perspectives. These approaches support experiences held in the body, emotions, or images rather than words alone.

What this work can support

People seek individual psychotherapy for many reasons. You may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional distress

  • Trauma or the impact of past experiences

  • Relational difficulties or attachment concerns

  • Dissociation, numbness, or feeling disconnected

  • Burnout, exhaustion, or loss of meaning

  • Identity-related or spiritual questions

  • A sense of being “stuck” despite insight

This work supports a movement from survival, disconnection, or overwhelm towards feeling more grounded, resourced, and able to live from choice rather than survival.

The therapeutic relationship

The most important part of therapy is the relationship. I prioritise creating a safe, trusting, and attuned connection where you feel seen, heard, and respected.

Many people arrive with fears of being judged, overwhelmed by emotion, or unsure what therapy will involve. This work is grounded in the belief that healing is relational and experiential, involving body, mind, emotions, and lived experience. Therapy is self-paced and shaped collaboratively, honouring your capacity and boundaries.

How we begin

Our first session focuses on creating a supportive and containing space where you can share what brings you to therapy and what you hope for. I will explain how I work, including boundaries and confidentiality, and we will begin exploring your experiences at a pace that feels manageable.

Reflections from clients

“Therapy with Jane has helped me see my life through a different lens. When I began, I felt scared, angry, and overwhelmed. I am learning to stop carrying responsibility for everyone else, become more assertive, and move forward with greater confidence, positivity, and hope.”

— Anon

“Jane has been present, grounded, and gently encouraging throughout what has been a life-changing process for me. I have felt supported by her guidance, and more empowered to choose again rather than stay stuck for as long.”
